Welcome to today's episode of Not Defined by Endo Podcast!
Today’s episode is with Kelly Newton, who founded BP3 Underwear in 2019. Kelly founded BP3 as a result of her issues with bladder incontinence as she entered menopause. We know that many young women with Endometriosis, Interstitial cystitis, and even those in postpartum also have bladder issues, and Kelly soon realized that all of these women could use her knickers both for their periods and leaks and incontinence.
Kelly also has a fascinating story about her endometriosis and I really had so much fun getting to know her.

Welcome to today's episode of Not Defined by Endo Podcast!
Today’s episode is with Jodie Hughes, the founder of the charity Endometriosis South Coast in the UK, and a Ph.D. student studying how endometriosis differs in different sample groups of people. Jodie’s endometriosis story begins at the tender age of 11, and like many of us, she has had to navigate a behemoth healthcare system, advocating for herself and others and raising awareness about the disease.
Endometriosis is such a poorly-funded and poorly-researched disease, and Jodie is working hard to change this by devoting her life to studying the impact of Endo. For her undergraduate and master's studies, she researched the stress levels of patients with endometriosis and was able to obtain statistically significant results in both studies.
Apart from doing research on Endo, she also founded the all-inclusive charity called Endometriosis South Coast, supporting and educating those with endometriosis by running webinars and support groups.

Wednesday Mar 31, 2021
Welcome to episode 7 and the final episode of Endo 101! What an amazing educational few weeks it has been!
Today, we are going to discuss a case study on a woman who was diagnosed with Endometriosis and the treatment route that her doctors took, all hypothetical. We want you to know that even if you or someone you know has been diagnosed with Endometriosis, you do not remain without hope. There are many treatment approaches that your doctors can take, considering your individual case and you can regain your quality of life back. Most importantly, please never forget that you are not alone. There is an army of women, fellow sufferers, doctors, researchers and advocates fighting with you.

S3E6 (Endo 101) - Endometriosis Myths and How They Evolved
Wednesday Mar 24, 2021
Wednesday Mar 24, 2021
Welcome to episode 6 of Endo 101!
Endo 101 is a mini-series that seeks to inform and educate on the enigma that is Endometriosis. My purpose in this mini-series is to talk about all the aspects of endometriosis, right from proper definition to treatment methods and even myths that are pandered about the disease. I am so privileged to be joined today by Mr. Thomas Bainton, the Endometriosis Fellow and a senior registrar in obstetrics and gynecology at the Chelsea and Westminster Hospital, in London, UK.
Today’s episode will be about the myths that have plagued this disease. There are so many inaccuracies we have always known to fly around when it comes to this disease. Myths such as Pregnancy cures endometriosis can do a lot more harm than good. Therefore, today Tom and I will be discussing some of these myths and Tom will be giving us an idea of the origins or the reasons why these untruths find their way into society.
If you have any questions you are keen to get answers to or if you just enjoyed this episode and would like us to know, send an email to info@notdefinedbyendo.com with your questions, or DM me on Instagram @notdefinedbyendo or the Instagram Page of Chelsea Centre for Minimal Invasive Gynaecology (CCMIG) @ccmig.london. Welcome to episode 5 of Endo 101!
Last episode we discussed the surgical treatments for Endometriosis, and why the gold-standard treatment for Endometriosis is excision surgery to remove the disease completely. We also understood the different surgical approaches based on the kind of Endometriosis, whether an endometrioma, peritoneal endo or even deep infiltrating bowel endometriosis. Today, we want to talk about Endometriosis and Infertility. Up to 40-50% of women with Endometriosis do suffer from infertility or subfertility. So let’s talk about this and understand better how and why this happens.
