She also co-wrote the book, ‘Beating Endo’ with Dr Iris Orbuch, where she explains the impact of endo on our pelvic health.
Amy serves as the president of the International Pelvic Pain Society, is featured in the Endo What? documentary, and is one of the founders of the Alliance for Pelvic Pain, a patient-oriented educational retreat. S1E3 - Beating Endo - An Endometriosis Specialist's Perspective
Wednesday Oct 02, 2019
Wednesday Oct 02, 2019
Does an Ultra-sound detect Endometriosis? Why do I still have so much pain after my surgery? Does pregnancy really cure Endometriosis? What are my options?
Many Endometriosis sufferers have all these questions, but feel like no one, not even the medical professionals who we trust so much, can answer them. This is why I am so excited to be speaking to Dr Iris Orbuch in today's episode.
Iris is an Endo Excision specialist and the Director of the Advanced Gynecologic Laparoscopy Center in Los Angeles and New York City. She operates at Lenox Hill Hospital, Mount Sinai and Beth Israel Hospital in New York City.
She is one of the few physicians who understand that even though excision surgery is the gold standard for endometriosis treatment, the disease requires an integrative approach combining both Eastern and Western medicine to help patients heal and get them on the road to recovery. Infact, she just released a book called ‘Beating Endo’ with her co-author Dr Amy Stein.
There is so much to learn from Iris today and it is an absolute honour to be interviewing her. So, sit back, relax and let’s have a listen!
If you want to reach Dr Iris and know more, please visit her website www.lagyndr.com. You can also call the number on the website. Also make sure to buy her book, Beating Endo, which is now out. You can get it on www.HarperCollins.com or www.HarperCollins.co.uk and also on Amazon.

Endometriosis and pelvic pain. Painful sex. Painful urination. Painful bowel movement. These are just some of the symptoms many of us experience, both during and outside of our menstrual periods. Many say endometriosis causes pelvic floor dysfunction.
But what exactly is the pelvic floor? What are the signs that I have a pelvic floor dysfunction? And how does Endometriosis affect this? How can I improve my pelvic health?
Today's episode is with amazing Nicole Cozean DPT, a Physical Therapist I had the honor of meeting a while ago. Nicole has a private practice, called Pelvic Sanity in Orange County, California and treats women and men with any sort of pelvic concern such as pelvic pain, sexual dysfunction, urinary and bowel conditions and pre- and post-natal issues.
Nicole has so much knowledge about the relationship between endometriosis and pelvic health and teaches us how to address our pelvic pain by addressing our sources of pain generators and therefore calming down our central nervous system.
For more information on Nicole’s practice, visit www.pelvicsanity.com. Also follow her on Instagram @pelvicsanity and make sure to watch her IGTV Endo and Gut health mini-series. Nicole’s Book, the Interstitial Cystitis Solution is available on amazon and can be found here.

S1E1 - My Endometriosis Story
Wednesday Sep 18, 2019
Wednesday Sep 18, 2019
Welcome to Not Defined by Endo Podcast, Season 1 - Episode 1.
Our first full episode this season tells my endometriosis story. How it all began, and where I am on my journey now.
As many chronic illness sufferers know, there never seems to be an end to the journey. But we each have a unique, though familiar story, and we need to embrace every aspect of our journey. Healing is never linear, so we take it one day at at time.
My story is by no means done, and I would love for you to join me on this journey of healing and self-discovery.
